Renata Daguerre
Renata Daguerre (1989, Mar del Plata, Argentina). Studied Audiovisual Arts at the National University of La Plata, where she graduated in film and television scriptwriting. She works as coordinator and programmer of the Experimental and Expanded Film section of FestiFreak (International Independent Film Festival of La Plata, Argentina) and collaborates in the production of the Experimental Film Week, curated by Federico Lanchares.

In 2020 she resided in the Netherlands, where she joined the analogue film lab, Filmwerkplaats, and began to venture into the 16mm format and how to intervene the film in artisanal ways.
She currently resides in Berlin, where she keeps experimenting and learning the analogue processes in S8, 16mm, as well as analogue video with modular synthesisers. Her films are mostly made on camera, without previous script. Themes like surroundings, people, observations of life and nature, are recurrent interests which are mixed with abstract images as well. Besides short or medium films, she makes live collaborations with musicians and performers, aiming at the improvisation A/V scene. Her films or performance merged formats and search for amorphous results, there is no defined aesthetic line but research around colours, sensations, rhythms, textures, as well as philosophical observations about the existence where she is involved.
