Erwin van't Hart

Erwin van 't Hart (1969) has been working with film for over 30 years as a curator/programmer and technician/projectionist. The specific expertise that this combination of activities produces is reflected in a continuous research into inventive possibilities that the analog film medium offers to artists and filmmakers in production, projection, performance or installation. As a programmer and technician he has been responsible for dozens of experimental film programs from the late 1990s on at Cinema de Balie in Amsterdam to most recently IFFR in Rotterdam, as well as many free-lance programs at f.i. 25 FPS Zagreb, Club Solo Breda and WORM.Filmwerkplaats Rotterdam.

As a technical producer, he brings projects such as Vertical Cinema (Sonic Acts) and 360° Moving Picture Panorama (Filmwerkplaats) to an audience and guides many artists with technical support for their 16mm film projects such as Raquel Vermunt, Lichun Tseng, Floris Schönfeld, Jaya Pelupessy and Katja Mater.

He recently started his own research project in collaboration with Filmwerkplaats: 'the 16mm projector as a creative medium and instrument'.
