Cinzia Nistico

Cinzia Nistico is a composer and interdisciplinary artist. She creates hybrid formats in which concept, narration and abstract form merge in unusual ways.

Born in Milan (IT), she graduated in composition in London (Trinity college of Music) and Milan (Conservatorio di Musica). She is currently based in Amsterdam were she studied with Fabio Nieder. She attended masterclasses among which with Louis Andriessen, Bernhard Lang and Salvatore Sciarrino, who had an important imprinting on her for his “ecological” usage of sound.

In her projects/ performances she focuses on the friction between natural and artificial, real and unreal, individual and collectivity. She approaches these themes with concern to individual perception of identity and integrity.

She is currently working on 16mm film and mould.
